Thank you for your interest in joining Latina Leaders of Kern County. Kern County is the third largest county in California, with an area of 8,073 square miles, and a Latina population of over 133,000. There are 11 incorporated cities and 23 unincorporated towns located within three geographically different regions: Southern Central Valley, Southern Sierra Nevada Mountains, and the Western Mojave Desert.

Latina Leaders of Kern County is looking to keep local Latinas informed and involved in the community. Our organization hopes to highlight Local Latinas, Upcoming Events, and Community Resources.

Please take an opportunity to get to know us as we are confident that we have an avenue for involvement that meets everyone’s interest. We are committed to assisting our young Latinas in developing their leadership potential through the Youth Latina Leadership component; expand your leadership skills and learn more about our Kern community by participating in the Latina Leadership Network and of course, we would certainly love to see you at one of our gatherings or networking events. If you have an event that you would like us to know about, please contact us. Whether you are a student, a mother, a grandmother, a businesswoman, a teacher, a politician, a social worker, an activist, and the list goes on…, come be a part of us.

Though we may have different backgrounds, different interests, know that we are united in our culture and in the advancement of Latinas. So please join us in meeting one another and growing this organization, one comadre at a time.

Thank you,

Norma Rojas-Mora
President, Latina Leaders of Kern County
